Grassroots Workshops
The purpose of the Grassroots Workshops is to come out to each Member Organization (MO) to learn about their landscape and provide ongoing support where needed. Grassroots Workshops have been in place since 2015 and over the past four years, we've been able to visit 57 Member Organizations in their communities.
We've seen great success from this program, and as a result have developed a clearer understanding of the challenges MOs are experiencing and have become better equipped to meet the needs of the membership.
There are two components to the Grassroots Workshops:
1) Grassroots Workshop Meeting: This will be a meeting and an open discussion between your Member Organization's board or organizational group and SSA Staff. We will look at your previous Grassroots Workshop notes to see where you have grown and areas that still may need attention. We will touch on your strengths and successes, as well as your struggles and areas you need support. We'll look at ways in how SSA can better assist you to achieve your goals to enhance and grow your programming. The meeting will be 1.5 - 3 hours in length and can be held in the evening or during the daytime, whichever works better for your schedule.
2) Grassroots Workshop Technical Portion: Also included in the Grassroots Workshop is a Technical Workshop. These workshops range from Coach or Referee Clinics to Players Camps, and can be scheduled at a time that works best for your organization in the year of your Grassroots Workshop Meeting. They do not need to be held at the same time as the Grassroots Meeting, although if schedules line up, that is a possibility as well.
