SSA is happy to announce the renewal of the Conexus SoccerJam program in collaboration with our community partners, Conexus Credit Union.
The Saskatchewan Soccer Association (SSA) is happy to announce the return of Conexus SoccerJam to its program lineup this spring! SSA will continue the Conexus SoccerJam program in collaboration with our community partners, Conexus Credit Union. Conexus Credit Union has recently renewed their commitment and invested significantly towards the 2014 Conexus SoccerJam program, enabling events to take place from May through October in nine Saskatchewan communities! Conexus initially partnered with SSA in October 2013, hosting the inaugural Conexus SoccerJam, now renewing their support on an ongoing basis to the community-based program.
The supporting funds were secured through Conexus Credit Union’s Community Investment program, an expression of their long-standing commitment to improving the well-being of Saskatchewan communities. The program provides broad support to communities with an aim at positively impacting economic, social and environmental change. Conexus sees the value of focusing on key investment priorities that include youth development, community revitalization, self-reliance, and diversity; all valued qualities the SSA looks to achieve with the Conexus SoccerJam program. The SSA is proud to be launching the first 2014 Conexus SoccerJam event on May 3 in Fort Qu’Appelle, followed by Weyburn on May 10.
With Conexus Credit Union’s expanded partnership, Saskatchewan Soccer Association is also pleased to announce the appointment of Tarina Mayer as Conexus SoccerJam Manager for the 2014 season. Tarina previously worked for SSA as Coordinator of Relationships and Funds Development until taking on a career change earlier this year, but stays very committed to the Conexus SoccerJam program so SSA has been able to hold onto her expertise a little longer!
Members of the U of R Cougars Soccer Team will be part of the delivery team at all Conexus SoccerJam events helping teach, guide and demonstrate to players, coaches and officials – plus to ensure it’s FUN for everyone! The U of R Women’s Soccer Team was able to join the delivery team for Conexus SoccerJams, in part, thanks to a grant from the Ministry of Parks, Sport and Culture called the Community Initiatives Fund. Conexus SoccerJams received this kickstart to funding to enable the Saskatchewan
Soccer Association to introduce the program province-wide and gain support of our valued partner, Conexus Credit Union.
