Some of Western Canada's top under-15 male players are set to take to Fortius Sports and Health in Burnaby, BC for the first of Canada Soccer's Identification Camps of 2014.

Twenty-six players in all will train from 3-6 March under Coach and former Canadian Men's National Team player Ante Jazic. Fellow former Canadian international Paul Stalteri will also be a part of the coaching staff, as well as Tony Fonseca, Canada Soccer's Technical Director.

"It is very rare these days for a player to reach the highest levels of football without exposure to a well-designed player development program," said Fonseca. " The game has evolved; players are quicker, faster and stronger, more tactically aware, and more technically proficient."

It's the first in a series of ID camps that will also be held in Central and Eastern Canada. The main goal for these camps is to widen the talent pool that has been put together in collaboration and cooperation with the Provincial Associations and professional clubs.

For this first camp of the year, players are coming from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. The players from B.C. were selected from the EA Sports BC Soccer Premier League.

"(Canada Soccer) is following the most successful countries and is investing in systems and structures to support the professional clubs in their continual quest for world-class talent," said Fonseca.
