The Saskatchewan Soccer Association (SSA) Soccer 4 Life 6 - aside Indoor Youth Provincial Championships took place in Regina
February 28th – March 2nd, 2014, Regina, SK
The format for the Indoor Youth Provincial Championships once again included the Sask Energy Skills Competition which was introduced in the 2011 Provincial competition and has continued to evolve and grow larger each year. This year features an all round team competition where each team competes against others in their age category in a Kicks from the Mark competition, a hardest shot and accuracy shooting activity; the teams accumulate points based on where they place in each activity and the winner is then determined by the team accumulating the most points from all three activities. The Most Valuable Player (MVP) category is determined by the coach scoring the top two opposing team’s athletes in each game their team plays, the player highest rank player receives 5 points and the second highest scores 3 points, the player at the end of the tournament with the most points is the MVP. A Fairplay award is also given out and that is voted on by the referees on the conduct of the players, coaches and fans of each team.
