SSA Staffing Announcement

SSA is pleased to welcome Steven Schmidt to the staffing team in the role of Coordinator of Referee Development and Special Projects. Steven graduated from Bethany College with a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Studies and Christian Ministries in 2014. Since then he has worked with SSA, Saskatoon Youth and Saskatoon Adult soccer organizations in various roles and his skill set will be an asset in this role.
"I'm excited to have the opportunity to join Saskatchewan Soccer Association. I started my career in soccer administration with SSA as the PSL Manager four years ago and I'm happy to be back.
Thank you to Saskatoon Adult Soccer for the years we worked together and particularly for this past year which was a fantastic, fun-filled, year of hosting the 2018 National Championships."
In the Coordinator of Referee Development and Special Projects (CRDSP) role, Steven is responsible for managing and delivering strategic outcomes for referee development in Saskatchewan across the Grassroots, Community, Competitive, and High Performance Streams.
In addition, he will contribute in strategic priority areas including engaging membership and growing registrations, while supporting Indigenous, New Canadian, Futsal, Beach and Walking Soccer initiatives, and provide support to competitions and events and other administrative and technical priorities.

SSA thanks Octavian Iliuta for his many contributions to Referee Development over the years. His determination and hardwork have resulted in great growth in referee development since he entered the role. He will be moving into his new role as Coordinator of Competitions Development and can still be reached at o.iliuta@sasksoccer.com.
