2019 Western Canada Games Team Sask Soccer Coaching Staff Announced (Updated)
Saskatoon, SK – Saskatchewan Soccer Association (SSA) is pleased to announce the Coaching Staff for the 2019 Western Canada Summer Games in Swift Current, SK from August 9-18, 2019. The Association appreciates all of the coaches that applied and took the time to complete the role specific tasks required. We are encouraged to see so many highly qualified applicants for the different roles.
The structure of the Coaching Staff for the 2019 WCSG has been modified from previous years to provide more coaches with opportunities to grow and gain invaluable experience. The Games Coaching Staff is made up of the Head Coach, an Assistant Coach that will be responsible for video analysis, and an Assistant Coach/Manager. We have introduced new roles that are Support Coaches, who will support the Games Coaching Staff in scouting, executing training camps and the pre-WCSG competition camp. Lastly, we have also introduced the concept of Mentor Coaches, who will help oversee the Games Program and provide WCSG Coaches with an opportunity to engage them for feedback and input.
“We are excited about the changes we’ve made to our Multi-Sport Games Coaching Staff model and believe through it we will help provide more opportunities, experiences and mentorship for Saskatchewan Coaches. These changes align with SSA Strategic Plan Goals 7 and 10 and we are looking forward to fostering the growth and development that will come for those who are part of the Western Canada Games coaching staff. ” - Rahim Mohamed, SSA Director of Soccer
