"Udo Baecker is the face of soccer throughout the province. Udo has covered the province countless times promoting the game, hosting camps, running events, and providing tremendous leadership to support the development of coaches. His tireless efforts to grow the game at the grassroots level will be missed but we are very pleased to have his service for a few more months as he prepares for retirement in 2018." Executive Director, Doug Pederson. Watch for further details on Udo's retirement to come out later this year.
As we celebrate all that Udo has accomplished, we also celebrate the addition of Markus Reinkens to our staff. Markus has accepted the role of
Coordinator, Sport for All (CS4A) held previously by Udo.
"SSA is excited to welcome someone with vast experience and character like Markus in a role that he is very well suited to. As a Canada Soccer C & B Part 1-License Course Instructor he will take on leadership of all levels of Coaching and Sport for All program development and will support Multi-Sport Games, Under Represented programs, competitions and technical aspects of Club Licensing." "It is truly an exciting time to be joining the Saskatchewan Soccer Association and I am honored to carry on the work led by Udo Baecker. With the launch of Club Licensing and newly revised coaching education programs and coach certification pathway from Canada Soccer, there is a big opportunity to connect and help develop more coaches and Clubs throughout the province. I am really looking forward to taking on this new challenge and to having the opportunity to help grow and develop soccer in Saskatchewan." Markus Reinkens
As of September 4th Markus can be reached via email at cs4a@sasksoccer.com. Watch for his new phone number to be posted on the website when established. Udo remains available 306 533-1581
