Saskatchewan Soccer Staffing Announcement

SSA hires Director of Soccer, Rahim Mohamed, and congratulates Lara Schroeder, Member Services Coordinator, on her new endeavour.

May 25, 2017

Regina, Saskatchewan - Doug Pederson, Executive Director of the Saskatchewan Soccer Association, today announced the appointment of Rahim Mohamed as the Director of Soccer.

"We are very excited to have someone of Rahim's caliber joining our team.  Rahim comes highly recommended; his passion for the game, along with his education and experience will position the SSA for success as we move forward with the 2017 - 2020 Strategic Plan.  Rahim will oversee the development, resourcing, implementation, and delivery of the technical programs and services of the SSA, while working closely with Member Organizations to achieve adoption, alignment and implementation of SSA technical standards province wide.  In a non-coaching role, he will direct the long-term strategic initiatives and day-to-day administrative activities as leader of our Technical Department." Pederson

Rahim comes to the SSA having recently worked as the Technical Director at Toronto High Park Football Club in Toronto, Ontario. During that time, he was also a Coach Developer for Ontario Soccer.  Furthermore, Rahim has gained valuable experience as the former Technical Director at Byron Optimist Soccer Club, and as First Assistant and Recruiting Coordinator at State University of New York at Buffalo (NCAA Div. 1), and as an Assistant Coach at FC London (USL-PDL) and at Fanshawe College.

"I am incredibly excited to become the Director of Soccer for the SSA. I am looking forward to working closely with the talented SSA staff and committed Member Organizations to continue building on the wonderful work that is already in place. I cannot wait to get started and look forward to meeting and building relationships with the membership over the coming weeks and months. It is an exciting time to be involved in soccer in Canada and I look forward to contributing to the continued success of soccer in Saskatchewan."
