Yes, it's another Staffing Announcement
2017-01-27To: SSA Members and Stakeholders
In the fall of 2016 SSA Staff worked diligently to develop a new staffing strategy that would allow us to respond to the increased demands of the 2017-2020 Strategic Plan and also equip us to continue to improve service to membership.
In the last month our plan has been challenged on multiple occasions due to situations that could not be foreseen.
Most recently Chantal Boudreau, in-coming Referee Development Coordinator and former Business Administrator, announced that she would be resigning from the SSA in order to continue to pursue officiating at the highest level. Chantal was appointed as a FIFA Assistant Referee in 2015 and is Saskatchewan's highest ranking official. She has been diligently building her resume and skill set through high-level matches; in early November Chantal tended her first FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Papua New Guinea where she was on the line for three games, including a quarter final. As her opportunities increase, Chantal has decided that she will focus her energy in pursuit of this goal. We thank Chantal for all she has contributed to the association and wish her the very best in the future as she represents Saskatchewan and Canada on the world soccer stage. Chantal's last day will be February 28th.
As a result of this departure and that of Dave Nutt, Octavian Iliuta will resume his previous role as the Coordinator of Competitions and Referee Development. A Technical Administrator will be hired to provide support in these two priority areas. The posting can now be found on our website. Please post and circulate with your membership and network, as you see fit.
As you can appreciate these changes have presented challenges for us. We are currently working on a plan to cover Dave Nutt's areas of responsibility in the short term and to hire for the long term.
We will strive to maintain our level of service, however we acknowledge this will be a challenge. We respectfully request your patience and support as we complete the hiring process and transition new staff in their roles.
With change comes opportunity; despite the opportunities we have been presented with we remain very confident that we will add quality contributors to the SSA Staff team in the months ahead.
Respectfully,
Doug Pederson
