SSA Major Staff Change Announcement
2017-01-24
January 24, 2017 - Saskatchewan Soccer wishes to offer congratulations to Dave Nutt who has accepted a position with Canada Soccer as their Manager of Development Operations, effective February 1, 2017.
In the role of Director of Soccer Operations since November 2008, Dave has focused extensively on re-developing the provincial soccer system in Saskatchewan. Through the development of top quality strategic-operational and operational technical plans built around the SSA Stream-based Model, Dave has guided the technical department of the SSA to the achievement of unprecedented outcomes over the past eight years.
Under Dave's leadership, the SSA has been recognized nationally through Regional EXCEL Centre sanctioning and through a partnership with the Vancouver Whitecaps FC to enhance the SSA Player Pathway. Furthermore, high performance standards for a provincial network of High Performance Training Centres and Dedicated Players Programs have been established in support of newly created, year-round, 11-aside, high performance competitive opportunities. Additionally, during the last eight years Saskatchewan has won more medals at Canada Soccer's National Club Championships than in the history of these events combined.
"I am most proud of the effort to engage and consult with the Saskatchewan soccer community. Through system development, the SSA has attempted to provide every Member Organization with the opportunity to belong to the SSA Player Pathway with programs and services tailored to the unique goals and needs of individual participants," Dave Nutt.
It is this work, led by Dave, which has drawn the attention of Canada Soccer as it undertakes similar initiatives at the national level.
SSA Executive Director, Doug Pederson, comments:
"Dave Nutt is a uniquely gifted individual and his passion for the game is second to none. He has had a profound impact on the landscape of soccer in Saskatchewan and his contributions will continue to influence the positive development of soccer in the province in the years ahead. His recruitment speaks volumes to the level of respect that Canada Soccer has for the quality work that is being done in Saskatchewan. We wish him the very best as he applies his considerable talents at the national level."
Dave will remain living in Saskatoon in his new position and, while he will be missed, we celebrate this opportunity for him and his family.
In other staff news, Donna Evans has recently been hired as the Administrative Assistant in Regina and will begin January 30, 2017. For personal reasons, Shaina Grysiuk has chosen to return to Manitoba. We wish Shaina the very best in her future endeavours and welcome Donna as the newest addition to the SSA staff team.
Plans for employment of the Director of Operations are being developed and will be announced in the future.
