Saskatoon Play Better Coaches’ Boot Room - Futsal Presentation

The soccer community is invited to join us for another Play Better Coaches’ Boot Room featuring a presentation on Futsal by Jamie Meza and Jerson Barandica-Hamilton from Saskatoon Futsal League followed by an opportunity to socialize with other coaches and technical leaders.

Jaime Meza is the President of the Saskatoon Futsal League and was instrumental in bring futsal to Saskatchewan. Jaime arrived in Canada from Columbia with significant futsal experience and expertise having participated in numerous coaching licenses and courses and coaching in several of the world’s futsal hotbeds in South America. Jerson Barandica-Hamilton is Sporting Director of the Saskatoon Futsal League. Growing up in Mexico, Jerson was a competitive futsal player before relocating to Saskatoon to attend the University of Saskatchewan. In addition to his involvement in futsal, Jerson is also the Head Coach of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies Women and coaches within the Whitecaps FC Academy – Saskatchewan. The presentation will touch on topics including: What is futsal? The advantages of the game; and why futsal is a perfect developmental option to increase enjoyment and the technical level of young players in Canada.
