Chantal Boudreau appointed to FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup

2016-10-11

Chantal Boudreau, Saskatchewan native and FIFA Assistant Referee, has formally been appointed to officiate at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea from November 13 – December 3. Chantal is one of two Canadian officials appointed to this tournament, the other being Michelle Pye from British Columbia,

Chantal has been on the FIFA List since 2015 and is Saskatchewan’s only official with this prestigious ranking.  In her almost two years as a FIFA Official, she has already been appointed to various high-level events including the 2016 She Believes Cup in Florida, 2015 Pan American Games, 2015 CONCACAF Under-20 Women’s Championship in Honduras, International Women’s friendlies, North American Soccer League (NASL) and United Soccer League (USL) games.

The U-20 Women’s World Cup will be Boudreau’s greatest officiating accomplishment and challenge to date, and she is very grateful for this well-deserved opportunity: “I am honoured to be given this wonderful opportunity, to be able to represent my country on the international stage. I want to thank the CSA, the SSA and my family and friends for their constant support. This dream wouldn't be possible without them” said Chantal.

The Saskatchewan Soccer Association is extremely proud of Chantal and her accomplishments and are honoured to have her represent our province in November on the international stage.
