Saskatchewan Soccer Association Announces C-License Part 1 Pilot Coaching Evaluation
2016-10-03Hosted by QC Soccer in Regina October 21-22 and SYSI in Saskatoon November 4-5
C-License Part One Course Information
The SSA C-License Part 1 course is a required evaluation for coaches interested in coaching within the Saskatchewan High-Performance Stream. Successful C-License Part 1 candidates will have the opportunity to graduate into the Saskatchewan Centre of Coaching Excellence program, where they may work towards the C-License Part 2 Course and Provincial-B certification. Subsequently, Provincial-B certified coaches may eventually apply to the CSA National (B, A) certification program.
All interested C-License Part 1 applicants are required to have completed the Soccer for Life course and the Making Ethical Decisions course and/or the online assessment. Due to the Respect in Sport online course becoming mandatory in Saskatchewan as of December 15th, 2013, all registrants are recommended to have completed it prior to the C-License Part 1 course. If you have not yet conducted the Respect in Sport course, it can be found at the following URL: http://www.sasksport.sk.ca/RiS/
C-License Part 1 Course Design
Course content will include classroom work on Friday October 21 or November 4 from 6:30-10 pm and Saturday October 22 or November 4 from 9 am – 12:00 pm, with an on-field session from 1 pm – 5 pm. Registering coaches are required to participate in all classroom and on-field sessions. Completion of the C-License Part 1 course will define the attendee as ‘in training’, with completion of the C-License Part 2 course defining the coach as ‘trained’ and completion of the final on-field assessment resulting in the coach being fully ‘certified’ at the C-License level.
Coaches will be required to bring note-taking utensils as well as appropriate clothing for working on-field. If you are injured and therefore unable to participate in the on-field sessions, please ensure the course conductors are aware in advance.
