SSA Releases Proposed Bylaw Amendments and Member Restructure

Regular and Associate Members should direct this material to all entities in their organization.
As directed by the Strategic Plan and in consultation with Membership the SSA made commitments this past spring to engage in a robust consultation process regarding a revised member structure and future bylaw amendments.
Paul Varian of Capitis Consulting has been in consultation with Membership and has provided a proposal for a simplified and clarified membership structure.
The SSA Board approved the proposal for release to Membership and have put forth complimentary bylaw amendments for member consideration. The SSA Board also proposes bylaw amendments which are necessary to ensure alignment with FIFA, Canada Soccer, the Non Profit Act of Saskatchewan and internal policies.
The proposal and all amendments to the Bylaws and Articles will be discussed at length on Oct. 23rd, 2016.
SSA Members were also invited to submit bylaws amendments. One proposal was received by the Sept. 16th deadline.
The October 23rd consultation will take place in-person and via conference call (in Regina at 1870 Lorne St. and in Saskatoon at 510 Cynthia St.). In order to allow for adequate preparation we would ask SSA Members to register the names of all who intend to participate with business.administrator@sasksoccer.com by Noon, October 14th. Further details on the event will be provided upon registration.

Important Dates Related to SSA Bylaws and Consultation
September 23, 2016: Bylaw amendments received by Sept. 16 will be circulated to Membership in advance of the consultation so that local consultation can occur.
October 23, 2016: Bylaw Consultation - will be held in-person in Regina and Saskatoon and via conference call. Registration details will be made available shortly.
December 19, 2016: As per the Non Profit Act Saskatchewan 1995, this is the FINAL DEADLINE FOR BYLAW SUBMISSIONS to be in to the SSA office in order for them to be considered at the 2017 Annual General Meeting.
Further information will be available and reminders will be sent to notify membership about this process and we encourage Member participation in the October 23rd consultations.
