HUSKIE WOMEN’S SOCCER ANNOUNCES FIVE RECRUITS

The University of Saskatchewan Huskie women’s soccer team is pleased to announce the signing of seven recruits to the 2015 recruiting class.

Just as they did in a year ago, the Huskies continue to add local talent with four Saskatoon recruits set to join the 2015 roster. All seven recruits in this year’s class are from Saskatchewan.

“We are very excited about this group of players coming into our program,” said Huskie head coach Jerson Brandica-Hamilton. “We believe all of these players possess the qualities, attributes and playing abilities that we are looking for in order to continue building on the recent success of our program.”

Brandica-Hamilton will lead the team in his second season as women’s head coach (co-head coach in 2014), under the leadership of soccer program director Bryce Chapman. After two straight years of rewriting the history books in 2013 and 2014 with a playoff and Canada West Final Four appearance respectively, the Huskies will look to continue to climb the conference ladder in 2015.

“Our recruits will add versatility and depth to our already established group and will bring a competitive edge to our day-to-day training. More importantly, they bring the right character in their enthusiasm to learn and challenge themselves at the next level.”

The Huskies open their season at home September 12 against the Manitoba Bisons before hosting the Winnipeg Wesmen on September 13. Both games are set for a 12pm kickoff at Field 7 in PotashCorp Park.
