Please join us in welcoming Stoughton Soccer Club and Regina United Futsal Federation (RUFF) to the SSA community.
Stoughton has been approved for a one-year probationary Associate Membership. Stoughton is approximately 45 minutes away from Weyburn, Estevan and Carlyle. They are focused on youth soccer.
RUFF has been approved as our first futsal-focused Regular Member. Futsal is played on all the continents of the world by more than 100 countries with 12 million registered players and growing.
Futsal is normally played on sport court or a gymnasium floor and it is hoped that this version of the beautiful game will attract many new communities and participants to the SSA. With Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) declaring futsal as the official indoor version of soccer and growing interest in Canada and in Saskatchewan the SSA recently released the Futsal for Saskatchewan Manual and we welcome futsal to the southern half of the province. RUFF will focus initially on adult futsal.
The SSA Board of Directors, as guided by the Strategic Plan, welcome new members to the Association ensuring that healthy lifestyles are promoted through participation in all forms of soccer and supporting all participants to achieve their goals through participation in traditional indoor and outdoor soccer and Futsal.
