2015 SSA AGM Follow-up
2015-03-27
A big THANK YOU to all of the attendees of this year’s Member Sessions and Annual General Meeting in North Battleford. Attended by 16 of 21 Regular Member Organizations and 4 Associate Member Organizations, the weekend was met with positive feedback and encourages evolution of the weekend’s events for the future to better suit the needs of our members. A big thank you to the Battleford Youth Soccer Association and the Tropical Inn for their hospitality.
On Saturday morning, the SSA Staff presented several updates and initiatives about their direction and aspirations for the future of the SSA, including plans in execution of specific strategies to achieve the goals of the Strategic Plan and the outcomes of their work. Staff also took the opportunity to present plans for 2015 and how the Association plans to encourage and incorporate the voice of the membership in helping to shape a Strategic Plan for Soccer in Saskatchewan above and beyond the SSA Strategic Plan.
Saturday Educational Sessions: Focused on the SSA Player Pathway, High Performance Programming, Member Services Updates and an Intro to Communications in the SSA – View the PowerPoint Presentations HERE.
Proposed Player Pathway Depiction - click HERE - Any questions and feedback can be shared with Dave Nutt, Director of Programs at d.nutt@sasksoccer.com.
At the AGM on Saturday the Bylaw amendments were approved. Click HERE for updated bylaws.
Elections resulted in two year terms being approved for Len Chelack (Vice President), Andy Sears, Jeff Humm, and Steve Boodram as Directors. Click HERE for the 2015 Board of Directors.
Sunday’s full-day session focused solely on Formal Complaints and Appeals. With the support and facilitation of the Sport and Law Group’s, Steve Indig, attendees were provided with the knowledge and framework to better manage and conduct the Formal Complaints and Appeals process. Based on directives from past Member Consultations, the SSA is proud to provide our Member Organizations the structure needed to institute these processes, and thus empowering our members to handle complaints and appeals with confidence in the process. For a full review of the PowerPoint presentation, Click HERE.
Also, take a look at the Formal Complaints Education Manual, the Formal Complaints Flowchart and an example of a Decision, which were presented as part of the session.
