2015 INDOOR SHOWCASE LEAGUE TEAMS ANNOUNCED
Tuesday, December 16, 2014
As preparations continue for the third year of the Indoor Showcase League (ISL), the Saskatchewan Soccer Association (SSA) is very pleased to announce the participating teams for the 2015 playing season.
On the female side, the newly formed FC Regina will field a team in the competition for the first time and will join a returning team from QC United, as well as, representative teams from the SSA High Performance Development Centre (HPDC).
Unfortunately, limited interest means that the male ISL will not operate in 2015. Interested male players born in 1999 or 2000 are encouraged to register for the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games Evaluation Program, while late maturing male athletes born in 2000 to those born in 2003 should register for the Training to Train ‘Showcase’ Provincial Selects Program. Additional information on both programs is available here.
The ISL targets athletes in the Training to Compete (T2C) stage of the Long Term Player Development Model and provides the opportunity for 11-aside play from January-April, lengthening the competitive season and showcasing the quality of play, players and facilities in Saskatchewan. Players interested in participating should contact the teams directly or the SSA for additional information.
With participating teams now confirmed, the ISL schedule is currently being developed. ISL matches will take place as follows:
For more information on the Indoor Showcase League, please visit the SSA website or contact Dave Nutt, Director of Soccer Operations at 306-975-0826 or d.nutt@sasksoccer.com.
