Call for Applicants for 2015 SSA Indoor Showcase League

2014-11-14

Friday, November 14th, 2014
Regina, Saskatchewan -

The Saskatchewan Soccer Association (SSA) is pleased to announce a call for applications from teams interested in participating in the 2015 Indoor Showcase League (ISL). Established in 2012/13, the Indoor Showcase League (ISL) provides a competitive opportunity for high performance athletes in the Training to Compete (T2C) stage of the Long Term Player Development (LTPD) Model alongside high performance coaches and officials, showcasing the quality of play, players and facilities in Saskatchewan and creating a modeling environment and an opportunity for which young Saskatchewan athletes can strive.

The ISL targets T2C athletes (mature 15 year olds to 19 year olds) currently training in high performance environments (i.e. High Performance Development Centre, Centre of Excellence, High Performance Academies, High Performance-aligned Member Organizations, Clubs, Zones, etc.) and those senior teams and players who continue to compete at the high performance level (top senior teams, colleges, universities, etc.). Played 11-aside in Saskatoon, Moose Jaw and Regina from January to April, the 2015 ISL will strive to provide participating teams with a minimum of six matches against a variety of high quality competition. In addition, the SSA will once again work with university teams to create three "University Showcase Series" weekends. T2C matches will be scheduled either on University Showcase Series weekends to provide an opportunity to expose participating players to the level of university play and facilitate scouting opportunities or SSA Provincial Select Program competition weekends, becoming cornerstone events and encouraging the younger athletes to aspire to reach that level of play.

Interested applicants for participation in the 2015 ISL should review the full Request for Proposal (RFP)* and are encouraged to submit a proposal for consideration by Friday, December 5, 2014.
