Canada Soccer releases first of three Tool Kits for Coaches

2014-10-07

The Saskatchewan Soccer Association would like to congratulate and thank Canada Soccer for their leadership on the release of the first of three Tool Kits for coaches.

Canada Soccer released today, ahead of the 2015 soccer season, the first of three player development resources, the Canada Soccer Pathway Coach's Tool Kit: Stage One - Active Start (for U-4 to U-6 players).

SSA Director of Soccer Operations Dave Nutt, "The Canada Soccer Pathway Coach's Tool Kit: Stage One - Active Start (for U-4 to U-6 players) is an excellent resource, which provides volunteer coaches with all of the tools they'll need to successfully introduce soccer to young athletes. By better equipping SSA coaches with the stage-appropriate training available through an Active Start Coaching Course and supporting this knowledge with resources like the Coach's Tool Kit, we greatly enhance their chances of providing a positive introduction to soccer and beginning to build the foundation for long term participation."   The Coach's Tool Kit is available for free download online at SSA Coaching Resources

Although it is focused on the Active Start level, the SSA encourages all Member Organizations to share this resource widely. The Tool Kit contains valuable information that all coaches will want to be aware of regarding the CSA Player Pathway and is pre-cursor to additional resources that SSA Coaches can look forward to in the near future.
